Giuseppina Grassi feels good in her home land, in fact she won the gold medal in the time trial at the Pan American Games disputed in Mexico in Hidalgo. The italian-mexican rider of the Selle Italia-Ghezzi has managed to conquer a prestigious title which in the last two years she had always miss for a little, being second both in 2007 and 2008: on the 19.8 kilometers of the route Giuseppina Grassi outdistance by 36" a solid rival as the canadian Tara Whitten, winner of Tour de Pei's time trial.

In the road road Giuseppina Grassi showed again her good shape with several attacks that have made the race very tough and in the final kms she tried to help her compatriot Veronica Leal Balderas who managed to go on the podium in third place.

After finishing the Giro d'Italia in 32nd position, Giuseppina Grassi now can look with optimism at the second part of the season thanks to the great condition that has left her the biggest stage race in Italy.
